Hi, everyone! My name is Lindsey and I'm new to both Modestly Yours and blogging. While I think this is a great way to connect with other young women who share similar views, the work of changing attitudes and creating a generation of girls who value modesty, virtue, and truth starts in the "trenches"---helping real live little (and not so little!) girls navigate the challenges of childhood and adolescence and make it through these times with their dignity and self-confidence intact.
In the past, I've volunteered at a girls club at my church and at a camp for girls. Lots of moms volunteer to lead these type of activities (as they should) but the girls really, really look up to college age and older young women. Babysitting, tutoring, and leading scouting groups are also great ways to serve as a mentor.
In what ways are you influencing the next generation of girls? With all of the controversy recently surrounding the Girl Scouts, I present to you two alternatives:

What are some other good organizations to get involved in?
