Book Giveaway

After Lindsay's recent post, many of you have expressed interest in the book How to Be a Hepburn in a Hilton World. 

I'm pleased to announce we are doing a giveaway of four copies of the book.  As a little thank-you for all of you who have added so much to our discussions, the writers of the four most interesting comments on our Modestly Yours blog will receive their own brand-new copy of How to be a Hepburn in a Hilton World. 

You can comment on any post you wish to comment on--an old or a new discussion--and the winners will be announced next Friday. Just remember to include your email address with your comment, so that we can contact you for your mailing address, if need be.

We're Back

As you may have noticed, this blog has been on hiatus but we've appreciated your comments along the way.

We have been developing a plan for expansion and will keep you posted about exciting developments soon.

Modest Proposals: Take Back the Campus

Wendy Shalit will join Laura Sessions Stepp, Dr. Miriam Grossman, Cassy DeBenedetto and Dawn Eden for a lively panel discussion this Tuesday, on the hookup trend on campus and practical solutions for making things better.

Q&A, wine-and-cheese reception and book signing to follow the panel, so if you are in the D.C. area, come say hello and participate in the discussion! Details below:

FYI, Wendy Shalit is back from vacation and discusses the modest word from Australia over on girls gone mild.  Also under discussion: "why hotness does not equal happiness."

Today  (2pm-2:40pm), Wendy discussed the modesty movement on NPR with Amy Dickinson, who writes the syndicated column “Ask Amy” for the Chicago Tribune. The show took calls from listeners, and you can listen to it here.
