I came across an article that I found very relevant for this blog. Talk the Talk-Speak with Self-Confidence discusses that women have a hard time speaking with confidence. We're great at getting things done, but when it comes to talking about what it is that we are doing, we are more often embarrassed or ashamed of our actions. The article states that we tend to say things like, "I'm JUST a stay-at home mom", or "I THINK I can do that".
A very close mentor of mine once gave me an incredible piece of advice. She said, "It doesn't matter what path you choose to take in life, just make sure you find meaning in what you do". I couldn't agree more. Sometimes it takes awhile to figure out exactly who you are or the person you want to be, but once you know, know what you know! Own it, and don't feel bad about yourself if you come across people who disagree. Whether you choose to be a stay at home mom, become a top specialist in brain surgery, or spend your life saving the whales, do it and SPEAK about it with pride :).
