I bought a copy of a new book by Carol Platt Liebau, Prude - How the Sex-Obsessed Culture Damages Girls (and America, Too!). It's a review of our sex-obsessed popular culture and its effects on teenage girls. Carol Platt Liebau is an attorney, political commentator and guest radio talk show host based near Los Angeles. A website about the book, with audio files of interviews with Liebau, can be found here.
I plan to read Prude (I love that term, so counter-cultural!) this weekend and give you a review in a few days. Has anyone else read it yet?
I love the title! This looks like a great read. Thanks for bringing it to my attention!

Former Secretary of Education Bill Bennett interviewed Liebau earlier this week and held her over for several segments - it was very interesting. I think you can listen on his show's website, http://www.bennettmornings.com. Sounds like a good book!

That sounds interesting! Alas, so many books, so little time. I have yet to read Girls Gone Mild.

I read Prude last week and loved it! It's very well researched and written, but best of all it is a wonderful voice of reason among so much confusion. Liebau gives all kinds of statistics and historical background to support her position, and at the end you wonder how anyone could be ambivalent about the sex-obsessed culture we live in. Read it!
